Common questions

• Restore a purchase. Open the purchase screen in the app and choose "Restore Purchases". Purchases are tied to your app-store account and restore for free on your devices.
• Where are ads? STOPBRAINROT never shows banner or pop-up ads. In three places you can choose to watch a short rewarded ad (doubling lock-in neurons, an extra letter from your brain, or reviving a broken streak), capped at three a day. Ad rewards are small bonuses, never required: a broken streak can also be revived with neurons, and GIGABRAIN members never see ads. Only when you tap to watch does Google AdMob load; on iPhone, if you have not allowed tracking, ads are non-personalised, and on Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s Settings (Privacy › Ads, or Google › Ads, depending on the phone).
• Can I lock my phone during a lock-in? Yes, that is the point. Locking never fails a session. If you leave for another app, the app asks you honestly what happened when you come back.
• What are check-ins? When you come back after a while away, the app asks how it went. Nobody checks the answer; owning a slip always costs less than hiding it. You can turn check-ins off from the shield in the top bar.
• Is brain mail gambling? No. Each letter is a free gift with the odds printed on it. Nothing is wagered, and nothing random can be bought with money or with in-game neurons. Neurons themselves can never be bought.
• What are pacts? Optional multi-day commitments you choose, such as keeping your phone out of the bedroom for five nights. Some are tracked by the app; others are self-reported at a daily roll call. Nobody checks your answers, and breaking a pact costs nothing but its reward.
• What is free and what is GIGABRAIN. Everything that helps you scroll less is free forever: the Rot Check, lock-ins, urge surfing, check-ins, the grove, quests, pacts, the weekly boss, trophies and streaks. GIGABRAIN is optional and adds exclusive cosmetics, +25% grove harvests, two streak freezes a month, a weekly scarecrow ward, a second daily letter and no ads. It never buys progress that the free app cannot earn.
• Subscription terms. GIGABRAIN is $5.99 a month or $54.99 a year (US prices; other regions are shown in your local currency before you buy), or $119.99 once for lifetime. The monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the then-current price for the same period unless renewal is turned off before the renewal date (on the App Store, at least 24 hours before the period ends); payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. The lifetime purchase is a single payment, never renews, and there is nothing to cancel. Cancel a renewing plan any time: on iPhone, Settings › your name › Subscriptions; on Android, the Google Play Store app › your profile icon › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel. Cancelling stops the next charge and the period you have paid for runs to its end. We cannot cancel it for you, and the app will not ask you to stay.
• My GIGABRAIN membership lapsed. Nothing you earned is taken away: your neurons, streaks, grove, trophies and every cosmetic you earned or bought with neurons stay yours. Members-only cosmetics are simply unequipped and the member perks stop.
• Reminders. The app sends at most three kinds of reminder, only if you turn them on: a ripe crop, your chosen danger-zone time, and a streak that is about to break. Turn them off in Settings or in your phone’s Settings.
• New phone? Your progress lives on this device and comes back when you restore a device backup. A GIGABRAIN membership restores for free: open the GIGABRAIN screen and tap restore, signed in to the same Apple ID or Google Play account you bought with.
• Is this medical advice? No. STOPBRAINROT is a habit game. Its tips cite published research, but nothing in it is medical or mental-health advice; if phone use is seriously affecting your wellbeing, please talk to a professional.
• Reset or delete my data. Your work is stored on your device. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app removes it. There is no server-side account to delete.
• Report a bug or request a feature. Email us with what you expected and what happened — screenshots help a lot.

Delete your data

There is no account. Settings › hold to factory-reset brain, or uninstalling the app, deletes everything stored on your device (on Android, Settings › Apps › STOPBRAINROT › Storage › Clear storage also works). To delete purchase or support records held outside your device, email support@blackravenai.com with the subject “Data deletion”. Cancel any GIGABRAIN plan in your store account first; deleting data does not stop billing. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
